NYC Summer - In collaboration with Amber Sceats

My week started pretty lazy, as everyone take the weekend including Monday and some even Tuesday off here in the US for Memorial weekend.

Memorial weekend is for remembering and honoring people who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces - and has nothing to do with partying, even tho that’s what most people do!


Here in NYC, lots of people go upstate, to the Hamptons for long weekends. I was super excited to finally go away for a few days, but got a fever the day before leaving so had to cancel the entire trip. So bummed to miss out.


Anyway I had some nice and lazy days off here in the city, met up with my Norwegian girlfriend and some of her friends for her birthday! We had lunch at Catch, and the food there is great. Especially for the sushi and sea food lovers. They have vegetarian and gluten free options too and there is always a good vibe there. It ended up being a pretty short week after all.


Next week starts my crazy work scudule. Working for a client here in NYC that I worked with a few times before, so I know its a good crowd of people.
That always helps when you know you have some long days ahead. At least I have the weekends off, and hopefully the weather will stay nice!:-)

Rooftop season -NYC

Hey guys. From now on Im starting to write everything in English. Its just easier for both parts, instead of two different texts every time. I feel like most Norwegians are pretty good in English in general. Since English is not my first language, you have to excuse my vocabulary and falses here and there.


The weather here in NYC is so unreliable in these days, on day its sunny and warm and the next its cloudy and cold. Typical time of year when everyone gets sick, because you never know what to wear. When the sun is out, it is amazing tho. People go out, invite friends over to their rooftops for bbq, chill out in the parks or enjoy a beer in the sun.


I started antibiotics yesterday for my bronchitis. This is what happens when you live in Nyc. Im usually never sick, but every time I'm in NYC I get something. Probably the stress, combined with the pollution here.
Thank god I have my insurance on track! Hopefully I get 100% before my job starts from Wednesday on,
Forcing myself to take it easy the next few days.

Hair campaign and b.day week

Travle dager her i NYC. Jeg gjorde en hår kampanje i starten av uken, det ble en ganske lang dag. Spesielt ettersom jeg kun sov 3 timer natten før. Heldigvis var det mye kule folk på settet og jeg tror det ble ett rått resultat. Kunden virket ihvertfall super fornøyd. Jeg jobber som regel best under press, men har sovet så sinnsykt dårlig de siste ukene og i tillegg vært syk.


På onsdag hadde jeg bursdag. Hadde ikke sånn altfor høye forventninger i år, ion at de nærmeste ikke er til stede, men endte opp med å bli en super dag. Jeg spiste lunsj med en svensk venninne, Therese Lundquist på RH Rooftop i Meatpacking district. RH er egentlig en super fancy interiør butikk, men på toppen er det en restaurant, som både serverer lunsj og middag. Utrolig lekkert, og kjempe god mat! Anbefaler å ta turen, hvis man er i Meatpacking og leter etter en kul brunch spot!


På kvelden spiste jeg middag med noen venninner på Paradise restauranten på Edition Hotel, Times Square.
Jeg drikker jo ganske sjeldent, men man må jo nesten drikke litt på bursdagen sin. Det kjennes godt på kroppen dagen derpå for å si det mildt!


Konseptet til restauranten er en middag, kombinert med ett brulesque show. Med både mannlige og kvinnelige dansere. Og også noen sang numre innimellom. Jeg hadde sett showet før, men syns det var en kul ide å ha bursdags middagen der, så jentene også kunne få oppleve det! De digget både stedet, showet og maten. Nå har jeg sett showet 2 ganger nå, men drar gjerne igjen. Morsom og annerledes restaurant opplevelse og utrolig god stemning! Veldig gode drinker der også, for de som er like fan av Spicy Margarita som meg.


God helg til dere alle. For meg blir det en alkoholfri, rolig helg med litt ekstra søvn og en brunch med noen venner. Forbrede meg til en ny jobb her neste uke.

Busy days here in NY. I did a hair campaign in the beginning of the week, and was a long day. Especially because I slept for 3 h only the night before. Luckily the people on set were easy going and I think the result came out really good. The client seemed happy, at least. I usually work really well under pressure, but have slept so bad the last few weeks og un top of it been sick.

Wednesday was my birthday. I didn’t have the highest expectations this year, because my closest ones are not here, but ended up being an amazing day. I had lunch with a Swedish girlfriend, on a restaurant called RH Rooftop in Meatpacking district. RH is super fancy interior store, but on the top there is a restaurant, that serves both lunch and dinner. Really elegant, and delicious food! I recommend checking it out, if you’re around Meatpacking district in NY and looking for a cool brunch spot!

At night I had dinner with some girlfriends at paradise restaurant on Edition Hotel, Times Square. I nearly drink, but kinda haver to when its my birthday. I can totally feel the hangover now! The concept at Paradise is a dinner combined with a burlesque kind of show. With both male and female dancers. Including some singing in between. I have seen the show before, but thought it would be a cool experience for the girls! They loved the place, the show and the food. I have seen the show two times now, but would still go again. Fun and different restaurant experience, and awesome vibes! Yummy drinks, and especially for those who love a spicy margarita, as much as I do.

Have a great weekend you all. Personally, it will be a quiet weekend without any alcohol. Focising on getting some good sleep, have brunch with some friends and get prepared for a new work week.
