Finally, I got a bit of a tan and excited to wear some colorful clothes again. During winter months, I never find inspiration to wear any colors and always end up wearing black and grey. Summers make me so much more inspired and creative!

Happy new year

Happy new year everyone! I hope you all had a good start of the new year. Hard to believe 2020 has already started, it feels like 2019 went way to fast.
We celebrated New Year’s eve with the entire team at one of the players and his wife's house. It was a really fun night with different games, food, and drinks.
The guys had a day off the next day, so we got to sleep in the next day, wich was really nice. A really lazy start of 2020, but i’m planning on dragging my ass to the gym tomorrow and make up for it.



There are not many times a year it feels normal to dress up in a sparkling dress like the one I wore, but for new years I feel like its a great opportunity to go a little crazy.
I love everything that sparkles, so I decided to go for a fun sparkling dress from Revolve/LPA this year and styled it with a transparent belt from Lovers and friends, a sparkly hairband from Free people, sparkling clutch and flats from Steve Madden.

My goal for 2020 is getting a better balance in life in general, that’s something I have been working on for a while. I’m a pretty extreme person in many ways. When people say balance is key, it really is. But for me at least, easier said than done. My second goal is to stop wasting energy in trying to please everyone, at the end of the day you can’t please everyone, and instead, you will end up start losing yourself.
This year I’m focusing on my goals. and surrounding myself with positive energy.
I’m starting nutrition studies too very soon, which I have been wanting to do for a while now, and excited to finally get started.

Ugly sweater party and Norwegian style X.mas in USA

I hope you all have had a great Christmas holiday so far. We had the Wilds Ugly sweater party after the game on the 21st, which is one of my favorite traditions.
We had dinner at RH in Edina, Minnesota. I actually never had dinner there, only lunch. I have to say that WOW, the food is amazing. We had an early night since Mats had early practice the next day. The 22end Mats family arrived and we have been lazy since the day they arrived. Been watching Love actually probably tree times and sleeping in every morning.

On Christmas Eve, we slept in and watched movies. Mats mom made rice porridge for lunch. This is a tradition most Norwegian and Swedish people do during Christmas. We also leave one almond in the porridge, and the person getting the almond, gets a small present, like a chocolate bar. This always made us want to eat a lot more while we were young, just to get the almond and the present.
After eating Mats, his brother, Frank and I got dressed and went to a rink to play around on the ice. I love being active during X.mas, my family and I usually go to the mountains in Norway, so I’m used to a really active holiday season and a lot of outdoors activities. Since I don’t skate really often I have a lot of fun the few times I do. Of course, I got too excited to put the skates on quickly, so I accidentally cut myself on one of the skates, haha. Clumsy and typical me.

After we went home to shower and get ready for Norwegian style Christmas dinner. Mats family brought some food from Norway, and the rest we got from a Norwegian store here in Minneapolis called ‘‘Ingebritsen’’, we also found Norwegian brown cheese and some other goodies there. If you are Norwegian or Scandinavian and living in Minneapolis, you better check it out!
With Norwegian food, music and even snow outside it truly felt like the same as a Norwegian Christmas eve.



I hope you all enjoy the rest of the holiday. And getting excited to start off the new year, 2020! I’m planning to journal a bit today.
I know this sounds a bit stupid, but I recommend everyone to write down 5 things that you were grateful for in 2019, and also 5 things that you are leaving behind in 2019.
Let go of things that dosen’t serve you, and fuel yourself with people and surroundings that only serve you happiness and good energy.

Happy Holidays from Minneapolis <3

Christmas is just around the corner, I’m usually a last-minute person with everything. This year is a lot different since I’m celebrating my very first X.mas in the US away from my own family. Its the first time ever that I’m in charge of things to be ready and prepared.



I have to say that I start to realize why a lot of moms don’t like X.mas that much and think it’s stressful. I’m not sure how all moms manage to do everything from cooking, cleaning presents with 2-3 kids running around. All credit to my own mom and all moms around the world for keeping it up every Christmas.
We have decided not to do too many giftings this year, even tho I have bought some stuff, just to have something under the tree.



This week we had the Wilds girlfriends and wifes gift exchange dinner. I have been missing out on everything my girlfriends have been doing in Norway, so was great to get together and have a girl’s night. Mats got back yesterday and excited to have him home for a while, as well as getting family in town to celebrate X.mas. Hopefully, we can go somewhere and ice skate the next week and enjoy the cozy winter. Even tho it’s freezing out, its sunny every day and that helps for sure.

Today is a new game day, I decided to skip today’s game as I have been feeling a bit off since last night and want to charge up the batteries for our ugly sweater team dinner tonight. I love those American traditions, and defiantly planning on bringing them all back to Norway when moving back.



Tomorrow i’m starting my favorite X.mas movie marathon. My latest X.mas movie recommendation is ‘‘Bad Christmas moms’’, it’s hilarious! And ofc I’m watching The holiday, every Christmas, as well home alone and Love Actually!



Last thing: remember to reach out a hand, if you know anyone being alone this X.mas. It can mean the world to that person. I always get super emotional every X.mas and, but decided to not be this year.
I guess it helps to lower the expectations in general. Typically a lot of girls imagine things to be just like in ‘‘Love actually’’ or ‘‘The holiday’’, but truth is that no one’s life is like a Disney movie, even tho we all wish it was sometimes.

That feeling when you find your dream sweater in a second hand store

Back in Minnesota and started decorating for Christmas, as well as buying Christmas gifts. As we recently moved in we had no Christmas stuff at all, I’m excited to show Mats everything I bought when he gets back from the road trip! Been trying to buy some classic statement pieces, instead of small unnecessary things. Also been focusing on buying glass, and wood pieces for decorations, instead of plastic decoration.




In the last few years I have been trying to spend less money on stores like Zara and H&M, even tho it’s tempting sometimes with the cheap prices.
Here in Minnesota, they have a really good second-hand store named Fashion Avenue. I love buying second hand. You can find unique pieces that no one else has, and also much better prices. In a good second-hand store, everything is cleaned and organized. Buying second hand is cheaper for us, and better for the environment.



I have been looking at this sweater for quite a long time from 36o cashmere. Super soft and cozy, and good quality. Cashmere is always really expensive, but when I found it in the second-hand store. It looked almost new and on half of the price, so I coulde’t resist. I’m obsessed with skulls, even tho and love wearing it alone, or with a black, beige, or animal printed turtleneck under. Layers on layers are perfect for Scandinavian, or Minneapolis winters.



I hope you got inspired to go second-hand shopping or explore if you have any second hand close to where you live. My X-mas wish this year is actually something from a second-hand store.

Day 1.

The last week has been super busy. I decided to fly in a few days before Mats game to get settled in. I stayed with one of the Swedish wife’s from Rangers as we become really close when Mats and I lived in NYC. It felt good to be able to spend some quality time with her while visiting NYC.
The first thing I do when landing in the city is to walk against Hudson River, all the way downtown to the battery park. Just to feel the pulse of the city.
The first night we hang out with some of the other girlfriends and wife’s on rangers, really good seeing the girls again and catch up on all. 

Day 2.

I had some shoots set up, as I’m waiting for my visa to get confirmed I can’t work legally yet, but figured out it’s great with some new material for the book. Not sure how nice the pics will turn out tho, since I couldn’t sleep at all my first night, probably too excited to be back and see everyone. The third day I met up with some Swedish model friends who live in NYC, we did some vintage shopping at the Real Real, strolled around Soho and enjoyed the city. I had a late dinner with Mats family who also got into town to watch the game the next day.

Day 3.

I woke up and decided to go Rumble boxing. This was one of my favorite workouts in NYC and I have missed it. The gym feels more like a club, with neon lighting, loud music and even some pro athletes enjoy this workout. The workout goes on a bag, so you don’t box against anyone. After I had a lunch appointment with some of my American girlfriends at Soho House in the Meatpacking district. They serve the best food and also have a fireplace. So cozy and grateful for my friends to show up on a Monday on such short notice, we were in all 7 girls, and we all ordered the same. The kale salad with salmon.. so good! 
After lunch I had to rush home and get ready for game night. I rushed over to my Swedish girlfriend’s place. We always used to go together to games, so she asked me if I wanted to sit with her during the game. It was pretty emotional when they played the video of Mats and all his highlights from his carrier in Rangers, ending with “thank you Zucc”. I love how hockey brings people together, it truly is an amazing sport. So much love in Madison square garden that night even tho it ended with a loss for Wild. So happy I could be there and support him on a special day.

Day 4

I woke up and the sun was shining super bright. I remember last year in NYC was super cold, so I put on layers of layers with jackets and sweaters. Then I head out to meet with Mat’s family. We walked around in Soho and ended up at MarieBelle, which is my favorite cafe in NYC. They are most known for their amazing hot chocolate. I always stock up in chocolate when visit this shop. Yep, I got overweight just from chocolate .. we sat down on the cute little cocoa bar and enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate. When everything else is so busy in this area, MarieBelle is the perfect escape to get some rest in between sightseeing.
At night I was so dead, was supposed to go to the New Jersey game that night, but had a meeting at 5 went to bed already at 8 and passed out. NYC can be pretty overwhelming when you're not grown up there, at least for me. even tho I lived there for almost 2 years I never really got use to it.

Day 5. 

My last day in the city I had lunch with Mats family at one of Mat’s favorite restaurants, Serafina. Since his mom is part Italiens he loves Italiens food, so we used to go there a lot when we lived in NYC. Its a super casual likable restaurant with classic Italien food. After I did some errands and ofc picked up candy from Mats’ favorite Bon Bon, Swedish candy shop. 1 kg candy, no biggie!. I literally got 2 kg overweight because of the chocolate I bought at Mariebelle and that candy. 

Since Thanksgiving was coming up the next day some of my friends there had organized a Friendsgiving at Edition hotel Times Square my last night. The restaurant in the hotel is named “Terrace” and is a Michelin star restaurant. And I have to say, the food was bomb. I ordered the roasted cauliflower as well as the vegan Bolognese. I am actually celebrating my 3 meat-free weeks and I have to say it’s going pretty well. The meat-free bolognese honestly tasted really good. I asked some of my meat-eating friends to try it out, and they said it tasted bomb too. I really want that recipe.

Day 6.

I woke up, packed my stuff and headed to the airport. Excited to see Mats and celebrate Thanksgiving with one of the families from the Wild and their kiddos. Being meat-free on Thanksgiving can be interesting tho, I hate being that difficult picky person. Let’s see how that goes. Wish me luck!

New York Next ->

I hope you all are having some lazy weekend plans. I have been back in Minneapolis for the last week, catching up with some friends, spending time with Mats and finally having some meetings. Exciting things are coming up.:)



I’m off to NYC today! Mats play his first game in Madison Square Garden since he changed to The Wild. I’m excited to be there to support him on a special day with his family.
I figured out since I’m already going, I will stay for a week to make more out of the trip and make a meeting at my agency as well as catch up with my friends. Especially excited to hang out with my Swedish peeps over there that I miss having around.



I’ll try to update from NYC but it will probably be a pretty busy week where I will try to squeeze in as much as possible. Anyway, I’m already working on putting together an NYC guide for you guys. So many people have been asking me for places to eat, what to see and to do when visiting NYC. So i’m working on a list with all my best tips, including my favorite workouts there!

Quick stop in Oslo

I had the best time in Milan. Enjoyed the last day, just strolling the streets of Milan with my brother and waving goodbye to Duomo for the last time during the golden hour. Milan is defiantly much prettier on a sunny day!



Been spending the last days in Oslo with family and close friends. My beloved grandparents have been in a car accident, and its a miracle they are still alive.
I decided to surprise them both in the hospital on the first day I arrived from the airport. As I spent a lot of time with them growing up we are really tight and talk almost every day. Thankful for every day spent with them.



I’m back at the airport and taking off in just a bit. Heading back to the USA with perfect timing as Mats is back from LA today as well! I can’t wait to cuddle up for a movie night after a long flight. Planning on forcing him to watch ‘‘Game changer’’, as rumors told me it just got out on Netflix!

Milan guide. part 2.

Fancy brunch - God save the food



This if one of the fancier and more pricy brunch places in Milan. They have 3 different locations around in Milan and I do recommend the book your brunch table in advance as this place usually is full. The food was great, and the portions were in a good size too. I would love to go back here in the future for sure.

The big question is where to eat healthy in Milano, the city of pizza and pasta. A few friends have asked me for healthy recommendations. Personally, I don’t come to Italy to be healthy or on a diet, but there are a few healthy spots I can recommend that have really healthy options for those who prefer that.



Wegamama - More like a sushi place with tons of healthy options and good bowls.


Juice bar cafe (Duomo) - colorful bowls, juices etc, vegans options too.


Temakinho - One of Milan's new hotspots. This is a super fancy sushi place with amazing bowls, as well as rolls. The interior inside is pink and tropic. Cool spot to check out, very close to Corso Como/ Garibaldi.


California Bakery - They are located with multiple locations around Milan. They serve breakfast, brunch, and lunch with a Californian inspiration.

Rosa & Co


Are you a fan of poke bowls, you better check out this cute spot. The interior from the doorstep to the ceiling is all pink and they serve great drinks too.
\They are located in Corso Giuseppe, Garibaldi.

Starbucks Reserve - Great coffee



For the coffee lovers, I do recommend checking out one of the Starbucks reserve cafes in Milan. Starbucks Reserve is an upscale version of the normal Starbucks. They recently opened one in NYC too, in the Meatpacking district, right next to our old place. Its always packed there, probably since its the only one in NYC.
Their coffee is great and their pastries too. Perfect to enjoy a little coffee in-between sightseeing. We went back 3 times during our stay, much better than normal Starbucks coffee.

Italy’s oldest active shopping mall. The galleria is always packed with tourists. For fewer people, I suggest to go earlier in the morning and not at the weekend.
The galleria also has restaurants, so for those who just want to people-watch and have a snack that is also an option. We found a cute ice cream place on one of the corners inside and just walked around for a little.

Porta Genova



Porta Genova is like Brooklyn in NYC or Grunerlokka in Oslo. The area has become super popular in the last 5 years, a lot of students, artists etc live here.
The famous Navigli canal is located in the heart of porta Genova surrounded by cafes and restaurants. No matter what time of year, there is always a great vibe in this area, especially around aperitivo hours, when the Italiens get together after work to have their daily glass of wine.

Tenoha Milano



A lot of people would probably think its weird to eat Asian fusion in the city of pasta and pizza. But after several days with a full carb diet, we felt like eating a lighter meal. Tenoha is a newer Asian fusion restaurant located in Porta Genova, really close to the subway station. We combined the restaurant visit with sightseeing and shopping in Porta Genova. Both food and service were good. We had warm bowls with seafood and noodles, delish!

Papilla



Last but not least: Papilla just opened in Porta Genova, and recently got rated to Milan’s new nr one pizza. The spot is super cute and created by an italien family. Everything is brand new inside. Those who know me well, know I don’t eat pizza really often. This time it was defiantly worth it. Super thin, crispy crust with soft mozzarella cheese and salty ham. Yep, Italiens know how to make their pizza right!

Milan guide. part 1.

After spending a lot of time in Milan for work, it feels amazing just to come for pleasure and fun. Its a completely different experience to visit for a few days, then living here as a model. The good thing tho is that I know the city pretty well, and how to get around. I got a lot of questions about what places I recommend to see in Milan, so I decided to make a mini travel guide with my favorite spots in Milan. I’m not a typical tourist, I like to go with the flow and take it day by day.




Pandeus, Garibaldi



We started our first day with a brunch in Garibaldi, at Pandeus. Really cozy restaurant that serves brunch, lunch and also has a bar, and is supposed to make really good drinks. I felt like having a little boost after my flight, so ordered a beet juice with ginger and apple as well as some eggs. Everything was super fresh and good. The service wase’t amazing, it seems like everything is a little bit unorganized here in Italy, at least compared to the US.

Garibaldi Area



This has grown so much since the last time I used to live in Milan, back in 2014. I remember Garibaldi was the new and upcoming spot they just finished building, now this area is one of the most popular spots in Milan. It’s always busy here, no matter what time of the day. The area is full of stores, like Nike, Sephora, Colmar, Tesla, Reply and Venchi. Venchi is my favorite chocolaterie in the entire world. Italiens know how to make good ice cream, but also chocolate. They have my favorite chocolate spread, and I always buy a ton to take home in my luggage. They also serve fresh crepes with chocolate spread, perfect after a long tourist day! Garibaldi also has good restaurants and cool cafes to hang out.

Corso Como


This is my very favorite area in Milano. You can take the green metro line to Garibaldi, and Corso Como is just two min walk from there. The street is full of smaller boutique stores, cute cafes, restaurants, and bars. This area becomes crowded around 7 o’clock when the bars and restaurants starting to get busy.

We enjoyed a drink and aperitivo on our second day at Cimmino 104 in Corso Como. I had a bloody Mary as I felt super jetlagged, after a long flight from the USA the day before.

10 Corso Como



My nr 1 restaurant in Milan, 10 Corso como is surrounded by plants and candles. Perfect to get a break from the busy city life in this little garden.
They serve traditional Italien food, with inspiration from a greener living. The restaurant is not vegan, but they do have vegan options. We ended up ordering a vegan meal: pasta with mushrooms. Super tasty! We got extremely full after the pasta, so didn’t try the dessert menu, but had a decaf coffee. Best decaf coffee I have had for a very long time.

Duomo - Town House Lounge



Some people come to Milan, only to see the famous Duomo Cathedral. Its located in the heart of Milan and is one of Italy’s most popular tourist attractions. It’s usually a line to go inside the church, so if you want to see it, I suggest coming early in the morning for fewer people. We decided not to go in, as it was packed with way too many tourists.



Instead, we decided to go on one of the rooftops for a drink to get a nice view of Duomo.
“Town house lounge” is a Michelin drink bar on one of the rooftops next to Duomo. The drinks are made by a robot machine! Pretty cool, I have never seen anything like it before. It was a pretty cold day, but thankfully they had heat lamps outside. When it started raining we left. I do recommend to visit this when the sun is shining, for a better experience! It was pretty pricy tho, maybe same as Norwegian prices for drinks. I also do recommend “Terazza Aperol” or “Obica Mozarella bar Duomo”, for a good view over Duomo. Defiantly more worth it on a sunny day tho.

Spontaneous trip to Europe

We just said goodbye to our guests from Norway this week and had some days to catch up on everything I didn't do while having guests here. We had a blast in Nashville and I think they had a great time staying with us in Minnesota. A few days ago I attended the Jack Jablonski charity event with some of the wives and girlfriends from the Wild team. Jack Jablonski changed forever after he was hit during a high school hockey game. The resulting injury left him quadriplegic. He started his foundation, ‘Believe’ and keep inspiring and engaging people all over the world. I am extremely overwhelmed and impressed by this guy and his attitude towards life. 

Today has been such a sunny day here in Minnesota, and I'm trying to take advantage of the sun as much as I can before the cool kicks in. I love being out this time of year, the colors on the trees truly inspires me everyday. I have decided pretty spontaneously to go on a trip to Milan as my brother studies economics there now. I haven't been to Milan in a long time and figured out its a good excuse to go while he is there. It will be cool to stroll the streets and hang out with my mom and brother again and explore the city together.
I know Milan pretty well, as it was one of my best markets for modeling in Europe, as well as Germany. Milan was where I started booking good catalogs for clients like Guess. 

When I lived in Milan for the first time, I was young and pretty new in the game. I stayed in a model apartment, and it was pretty exhausting at times. Living with 5 other girls from all over the world with different cultures and languages costs a lot of patience. Surprisingly enough, all models I have ever stayed with have been super nice, except that many struggles with eating disorders and such, but for the most part easy-going and nice girls. Anyway, thank god I don't stay in a model apartment this time. Im sharing a room at a central hotel with my mom, excited about that. Can't wait to see beautiful Duomo, and visit my favorite area, Corso Como, and ofc eat some Italian pizza!

Nashville, Tennessee

Hi, u all!

We just got back from a short trip to Nashville. While we had a game there against the predators and figured out we would join because none of us have ever been there before and the flight for Minneapolis is pretty short. We stayed at the Hilton hotel which got the best location if you wanna be Close to where it all happens. Broadway is the main street w al the bars and the stadium is just across the street from the hotel. The first day, we decided to just walk around from the hotel and explore. So cool to experience a city like Nashville. It is totally like in the movies, or how I would imagine it would be. Already at the plane, we could see people w cowboy boots and hats, people wear boots and hats even at hockey games, like an everyday uniform... 

I always loved playing cowboy and native American as a child. My entire life I have been obsessed with Vikings, Native Americans, and cowboys so this was truly an amazing experience for me. Found the perfect pair of boots that I have imagined in my head for years, I'm usually super picky with what I buy.
Because I always find small details I don't like, but this pair was just made for me. The name of the store was Boot Facorty, and it was located on broadway.

We had lunch at Sunda, a really popular brunch/ dinner spot a girlfriend from the team recommended me. They serve Asian fusion. We ordered some different food to share, and the food was super tasty. After lunch we stopped by Marsh house for a coffee, this place was inside Thomson hotel. Cool interior and good atmosphere. March House, is just across the street from Sunda.

30 min quick change at the hotel and off to the game, Wild started well but unfortunately, we lost. 
We ate dinner at the Italian restaurant at our hotel, The Hilton. The food was ok, but not sure if I would recommend this place as an amazing Italian. We were pretty tired and just wanted some food pretty fast.

Last day we slept in a bit and packed our stuff. We got recommended Omni hotel for brunch so we decided to take our luggage with us and eat brunch there before heading to the airport. Food was good and service great, they even took care of our luggage when we arrived.

Excited to be back in Minnesota witch feels more and more like home. Today I have a charity event that I'm

excited about as well as a home game! Fingers crossed for a win today!

Minneapolis best waffles and off to Nashville

These days we are having friends from Norway visiting. So much fun to explore the city with them and check out new, fun places. Like most Norwegians, we are obsessed with good waffles. I even brought my waffle maker from Norway to NYC, because they only sell Belgian waffle makers here in the States.
The other day we found this awesome waffle place in Minneapolis, called ‘‘Blackhouse coffee''. We ordered the waffles topped with cream, banana, almond butter and berries, YUM. Almost as good as Norwegian waffles. I do recommend to check out this place if you are a waffle lover and hang out in Minneapolis. Their coffee was great too!

Tomorrow we are off to Nashville to watch the game Wild play against the Predators the 24th. Hopefully, Mats will be playing. His Injury is already a lot better. Our tickets are booked, so we will go anyway. We are super excited to go to Nashville, none of us have ever been. I Will try to check out some cool spots that I can refer to you guys. Im dreaming of finding an awesome pair of new boots in a cool vintage store. Recommendations of vintage shopping, good food etc in Nashville is much appreciated!

Pretty fall and Norwegians in town -Reklame Revolve

The last few days have been super sunny and warm here in Minnesota. I am a typical Norwegian: when the sun shines, I have to get out and take advantage of every minut of it. This can be kind of annoying for people who don't share the same mentality. I remember my friends back in LA used to make fun of me all the time, they get too spoiled over there with sun all year around. I guess Scandinavians just appreciate the sun differently. 

Long walks and exploring the city is much better when the weather is good. Tomorrow our guests arrive from Norway. I have been stressing quite a lot this week to get everything settled before they arrive, I want them to get in a vacation mood and enjoy the stay as much as possible. We still received some furniture today and carried it into the house.



We are super excited to get our very first guests from our home town in our new home. Tomorrow we will probably take them around the neighborhood and go for brunch somewhere cozy. I wish this weather would stay, but it will probably get cooler again soon. Except from having guests, we don't have that many weekend plans. Sunday is home game for the Wild, and even tho Mats is not playing I'm still gonna go with our Norwegian friends.

My best skincare tips for fall/winter - Reklame Dr. Schrammek medical skincare

I have been struggling with my skin for a little while now, probably because of jetlag and getting used to the US food again with more hormone than what I am used to in Norway. I usually have the same problem every fall. When the temperature and dryness in the air change, my skin changes too. It gets irritated more easily and also dryer than usual. Therefore I decided to share my best tips for a better skincare routine for fall and winter months.

1. you are what you eat
As we all know, a good diet will show on your skin. Eating with balance and moderate the sugar and alcohol intake always helps. As well as eating more greens. If you don't like veggies and think they are hard to add to your diet, you can do like I do. add them to your smoothie. Check out some of my recipes under Food by eline for inspiration. Last time I went to a dermatologist she told me, ‘Avoid alcohol, sugar, and lactose for a while', I did and it defiantly helped my skin.



2. cleanse

I always clean my skin, every morning and before bedtime. You might think it is annoying to spend those extra minutes in the bathroom every day, I get it.
But as soon as it becomes a routine it will feel much more natural and you will also see that it is worth it when the results on your skin start showing. Remember to keep your makeup brushes clean too,  clean them with a cleaning spray or wipes at least every second month. Dirty brushes can cause acne and more irritated skin.



3. Scrub
A lot of us are struggling with clogged pores or blackheads. At least once a week, I use a good scrub marked with ‘for the face'. The scrub for your body will be too hard on your face. I like to scrub my face and body in the shower because that's the best way to make the pores open. 
As the pores open, you get the chance to scrub off that dirt that might be in your pores. I usually get clogged pores on my nose, but a good scrub helps me getting rid of them. 

4. moisturize

Always moisturize, and especially important after a facial scrub. I like to do a face mask once a week after scrubbing. The one I use nowadays is from Dr. Schrameck, ‘Intensiv moisturizing mask’. Even tho this is sponsored, I do love all Dr. Schrammek's products. But all medical products will probably better if you have any skin problems.



5. Hydration

Even tho we might not feel that thirsty when its getting cooler outside, its important to stay hydrated even during the cooler months. If you can't handle cold water during winter, you can always heat your water and add some ginger and lemon, which is detoxifying as well.



6. Stress down, self-care

Stress can cause bad skin and makes us age faster. I know it is easier said than done, but take some time for yourself. And I get it, a lot of us have really busy lives and some of us with kids. But be selfish for at least a few minutes every day. Go for a 10 min walk and put on your favorite song, or do the workout you love, or just sit down and listen to your breath for some minutes and light up some candles. I think it is even more important when the darker and colder days are coming. To be a good mom, a good friend or a good girlfriend I believe we need to be good to ourselves first. Those few minutes are more precious for your well being than you think. Remember not to be too hard on yourself, we are usually our own biggest criticals. Stressing down also helps our hormones getting in balance and will also show on our skin.



7. Protect

Protecting your skin is not only important during the summer months, but also during winter, our skin needs protection all year round. Nowadays a lot of day creams also have protection. I am using a cream from Dr. Shrammek named ‘anti-pollution’. This cream is perfect if you live in the city. I started using this product while living in NYC. The most stressful and polluted city I have ever lived in. This cream is protecting from pollution as well with SPF 30. It is a thicker cream, which I like a lot this time of year.



8. Invest

I have always seen my skincare, and diet as an investment in my health. Investing in good skin products and healthy foods is like a lifetime investment at least for me. You have one body and one skin, you won’t get a new one. And remember that it is never too late to start taking care of yourself, no matter what age or shape you are. During winter mounts I always fuel up on extra vitamin D (which we only get from the sun), C (to protect the immunity system) and last: Iron supplements (Iron is a mineral that helps us build red blood cells, witch most women could need more of because that time of the month). Being low on iron can cause headaches as well as tiredness. Healthy fats: I try to add chia seeds to my morning smoothie, which are a natural source of fatty acids like Omega 3. Chia seeds are great for our skin, and if you don’t eat too much fish like salmon, omega 3 is a good option for you. For the record, chia seeds have more omega3 than salmon. Chia seeds are quite expensive, but you need very little to get the amount you need, so one package lasts quite long.



9. Go away puffiness

Last Lil' tip for the puffy morning face or eye bags. This is for every day or during that time of the month, where at least my face gets extra puffy:
I just invested in this face roller thing everyone is talking about, (in the top left picture above). You get face rollers in all different shapes. Mine is from Sephora, but you can also get them on Amazon or in most skincare stores. Leave it in your freezer, or fridge overnight and roll it gently over your face after your morning cleanse.

Dermot Kennedy and Home opener The Wild

Happy Monday you all. It is been a hectic and fun weekend over here. Still, quite a lot to do in the house, even tho things finally start to fall into place. More of the small stuff left, like candles and decorations, as well as carpets, beddings, towels, etc. 



Friday I went to a concert with one of the wives on the Wild team, Helena and a friend of hers from Minnesota. I honestly had never heard about the artist, but I love concerts and when Helena started sending me youtube clips I got convinced to go. 
Dermot Kennedy is an Irish artist and writes all his music by himself. He was truly an amazing live and such a humble person on stage. Before each song, he took a moment to explain the text and the meaning behind every song. The fans seemed to be super connected to him, and wouldn't stop applauding after the last song. They kept screaming, ¨One more song ¨! He looked super flattered and seemed so thankful for every single person showing up. 

Saturday was the first home game for the Wild, and most of the wives and girlfriends of the players went to watch the game together. Before I met Mats I bearly knew anything about hockey. My first hockey game, I asked him ¨Is it gonna be inside or outside¨? Years later, he still makes fun of that comment.
Even tho NHL is huge here in the states, it is a smaller sport in Norway and especially where I'm from. My whole family, including myself, have been active cross country skiers and most Norwegians are all about skiing. In the beginning, I didn't like watching hockey that much, and I often stayed home in NYC to watch it from the coach. I didn't understand anything about the game and the rules. I felt it was easier to understand everything from the TV. After some years I am getting more and more into it, and I do enjoy the games so much more now. Its also a social way to get together with the other girls, as I don't know many people here in the city. Unfourthantly our team lost, but the season just began so things can quickly change.

RH - luxury furniture and rooftop restaurant

If you are looking for a nice spot to have brunch or a fancy dinner in Minnesota, this is the new hot spot you don't wanna miss out on. Restoration Hardware is originally luxury furniture and home retailer. They opened their rooftop restaurant in NYC, Meatpacking district just about a year ago. Their rooftop in NYC quickly became one of Manhattans' most popular brunch spots and dinner spots and it is almost impossible to get a table over the weekends. 

As well as the RH in NY, the Restoration Hardware in Minnesota is a three-level 

showcase store with a rooftop restaurant on the top floor. They serve both lunch and dinners, also during the weekdays. Just a few minutes from the RH store is the ¨Galleria¨, a smaller luxury shopping center with stores like Tiffany, Louis Vuitton and such. 

We ordered a burrata to share, and a filet of grilled salmon as our main course. The food was delicious and the music and atmosphere were good too.
We will defiantly come back some other day. Usually, it feels like you can be casual in most places in the states, but If you want an opportunity to dress up, this is one of the more dressed-up spots in the city.

Exploring new superfood spots in Minnesota

It's only my second week in Minnesota, but It feels like I have been here for a month already. I have been doing so many things and met so many people in such a short period. I had honestly thought Minnesota was a small and kind of boring place to live, but it is not! The city feels big, and there are so many things to do.



I have been spending hours after hours in home goods, target, RH and such to organize for the house. I do enjoy it, even tho if it is a lot of work.
People here are so helpful and genuine every time I ask someone for help. I also got a car now, which I was pretty nervous about at first. I have been in the states for 3 years now, but I always avoiding driving. I felt like I had to challenge myself when we moved here. Minnesota is not like NYC with a subway right outside your door. Being able to drive gives me much more freedom.



One of the girls from the Wild team is from Finland. She and her husband live close to us, so we have been spending a lot of time together in the last few days. It's always something special about the Scandinavian culture and how you bond with each other. She shows me all the cute spots, I'm adding some pictures under from our lunch at ¨Crisp and Greens¨ in Minnesota yesterday. 
The place is super cute and with all kind of options, also for the vegans! I did a green bowl yesterday, with chickpeas, carrots, tuna, feta, avocado, spinach and some super tasty ginger dressing. I do recommend this place, super clean and and the service was great too! Also an option to be seated outside, (like we did) when the weather is good.

Hope you all have had a good week and is as excited as I am about the weekend. I am going to a concert today, which Im really looking forward to! Tomorrow it is the Wilds first home game, here in Minnesota. I am super excited to be there and see Mats on the ice again, lets hope for a win!
Minnesota has been warm and nice the last few days, but the rain just started. Rumors told me it will snow this weekend. Gotta get prepared for some cold winter months, even tho I'm pretty used to cold weather.

Hello Minnesota <3

Hey you all. :)


Hope you all had a great start of the new week. I am sorry I haven’t been updating in a while.
This first week in Minnesota has been crazy busy. A ton of work with the new house we just moved into as well as getting to know the city, the people and how to get around. It will take some time to settle fully into the house, but step by step. It has also been nice to spend some time with Mats again after almost a month apart.

I realized pretty early, that I have to challenge myself to get to know and meet new people, not to be lonely here. When we lived in NYC everything was a bit different, I had my friends and my stuff going on with modeling and work. Here in Minnesota I am all new and don't know many people. It is a new life for us both. Right now I am also without a working visa, and it will take some time before I get it back. In the meantime, I am gonna start some online nutrition studies, witch, I am super excited about! It will be good to be able to share more knowledge about the nutrition of the food recipes with you guys as well. 

I already feel the warmth from the people in Minnesota. I have to admit it is a massive change from NYC in many ways. So far I like it here. The city is a lot cleaner than NYC and much more nature and less noise, witch was something I always missed back in NYC. Every city got its charm, and Minnesota seems so far to have a lot to offer. I do understand why so many Scandinavians settled down here. The seasons and the climate are similar to Norway. I also got to meet everyone on the team, and everyone has been super welcoming to us both. The last two days I have been organizing a bunch for the house, and some of the girls from the Wild team have been helping me out.

Goodbye Norway <3 Ready for new adventures

My last days in Oslo have been pretty hectic. I always feel like I have things under control until I realize I am leaving in less than 24 hours. I completely forgot I had to reply for the Esta, since I had an American visa the last 3 years I didn’t really think about it. I replied for my Esta less than 24 hours ago, and it normally takes 72 hours to get it confirmed. Hopefully I get it in time before my flight, which takes off in an hour. Fingers crossed!

As we speak I'm sitting in the lounge with a huge cup of coffee, waiting to board on my flight to Minnesota!
I only slept for a few hours tonight, as I was packing and trying different outfits to figure out what to wear for tomorrow's, or actually today team dinner (with the time difference). I will probably go straight from the airport to the dinner, so hopefully, I will get some rest on the plane. 

I'm super excited to see Mats again and explore a new city with new people! Always sad to leave Norway, but since I am waiting for my next O1 visa, I have to go back to Norway soon for the interview at the American embassy. I will try to update from Minnesota, but will probably be super busy first few weeks with settling in and getting to know a new city and how everything works over there. ts time to get pushed out of the comfort zone again. Its all so new, and I feel nervous and excited at the same time!
